ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL –
There are two adult Sunday School classes.
1. Room 200 – Kevin Christ and Al Holder lead a study of Psalms.
2. Room 202 – Mike Riggins studies the Scottish Reformation
Adult Sunday School Class: The Scottish Reformation
Which of the poorest nations in Western Europe became the primary source of intellectual and political progress at the dawn of the modern world? What part did Presbyterian polity and theology play in that? (Hint, it was substantial.) How did the United States of America produce such an incredible set of founders and where did they get their ideas? Where did much of the current theories in chemistry, economics, philosophy, and engineering first arise?
Scotland.
Pastor Mike Riggins will teach a class that examines the incredible influence Scottish preachers, teachers and politicians had on the world we inhabit. We will encounter John Knox, David Hume, Joseph Priestly, James Watt, Robert Burns, and a list of equally important, if less famous people. We will trace how Scottish ideas formed the USA—and how Scots patterns of immigration to it still affect our nation.
If enough interest is generated, we may even plot a study and fun trip to Scotland in the near future.
Join us upstairs in the small classroom you reach through the choir room. We’ll start at 9:30 am sharp!

CHILDREN AND YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL
Childcare (age 2 and younger) – room 101
Preschool class – room 108
Kindergarten through 3rd grade – room 103
Tweens (4th – 8th grades) – FH east classroom
High School – room 201

SAVE THE DATE: We will “GIVE THANKS” to Scott and Donna Paul-Bonham with a luncheon (all food provided – not a carry in) on Sunday, November 24. Scott will be preaching that day. They have been a loving, vital part of our church family for twenty years. Everyone is invited to provide cards, pictures, or written expressions that will be compiled into a memory book for them to take to Michigan. Please submit your memories to either Kevin Christ or Al Holder no later than November 15 so they may be included in the book.

The youth group will be serving others with the annual Rake and Run on November 17th. If you would like your lawn raked or know someone who needs the help, please contact Connor Scanlon at connor@thcpc.org or 812-593-6266.

Advent Devotion Writers – the deadline for emailing your submission is Sunday, November 10. Your ministry to the congregation is appreciated.

Strategic Planning Task Force seeks volunteer to set up a Google Docs survey form
The Strategic Planning Task Force intends to use an online survey as ONE of the several methods of getting input from members and friends of our church. We hope to use Google Docs. Do you, or somebody you know, have the expertise and experience to do this work? It would not be a lengthy survey; we think setting it up will not take long for the right person. If you can help, please contact Corrine Foree, either in person or at corrine.foree@gmail.com.

From Kelly Stinnett, Mission Volunteer Coordinator:
As a part of the vision for Central to be the hands and feet of God, I am calling together meetings for prayer. We will go together before God and ask what God is doing in our lives and those around Terre Haute. Big things are happening and we don’t want to miss it! There will be four points we will be praying over together each time. If you can’t make it to a meeting, you can pray with us wherever you are over the same points! Our first gathering will be Nov. 10 following the service. Subsequent meetings will be determined at the gathering. — Romans 12:11
