Now go with the assurance that
God is present in you at your strongest and weakest.
God is present in all creation, including you.
God is present in every moment and in a single word.
God is present, recognized or not.
And God is present in the flesh – like our flesh – to bring us home.

UNHANGING OF THE GREENS follows worship on Sunday, January 5.  Please remain after worship to help put away the holiday decorations.

Commission and Committee Chairs: All annual reports are due in to the church office by 3:30 pm on Monday, January 6.

On Communion Sunday, members are asked to make a voluntary contribution to aid the distressed and afflicted of our community.  Please consider a gift, using the Deacons’ Fund pew envelopes.

Sunday School classes meet each week at 9:30 am. Preschool – room 108; Younger Elementary (K-2nd) – room 202; Older Elementary (3rd – 5th) room 103; Middle School – room 200; High School – room 201; Adults and Young Adults: Coffee and Conversation – FH classroom A; History of Christianity – FH classroom B; Christian Parenting – FH Classroom C.
The Sunday School offering is money for milk at 14th and Chestnut. Recently there have been 70 to 80 children a day getting a snack and supper at the Center. This is a minimum of 1 gallon of milk and 70 paper cups used each day which is $7- $8. Please give generously. Sunday School Superintendent, Sandy Mead, is offering a challenge – if we get $35 (all classes) or more a week in offering, there will be a milkshake party each month!

The next annual meeting of the congregation of Central Presbyterian Church and of the
members of our church corporation (Central Presbyterian Church, Inc., of Terre Haute, Indiana)
(the “corporation”), will be held in the church sanctuary immediately following 10:30 a.m.
worship (that is, approximately 11:30 a.m.) on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Among other
items of business that will come before that annual meeting, the session (and the board of
directors of the corporation) will seek the approval by the congregation’s active members
(and the members of the corporation) of Amended and Restated Articles of Incorporation and
Bylaws for the corporation. The proposed restatement of and amendments to the Articles of
Incorporation of the corporation and the proposed amendments to the current Bylaws are
intended to conform those documents, as nearly as possible, to the existing Indiana Code
(Title 23) and the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), including Part I (The Book
of Confessions) and Part II (The Book of Order), and to reconcile Indiana statutory law with the
nomenclature and polity of The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Copies of the existing Articles
of Incorporation and Bylaws are available in the church office and are posted in the church’s
Fellowship Hall, as are copies of the proposed Amended and Restated Articles of Incorporation
and amended Bylaws. Copies of the proposed Amended and Restated Articles of Incorporation                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       and amended Bylaws may also be found in the church’s 2013 Annual Report, which will be                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             available for pickup in the Fellowship Hall beginning on Sunday, January 12, 2014.
