Thanks to the Worship Commission and many others that have worked hard to set up worship in the sanctuary tomorrow. There are chairs in place. We also welcome the choir back from a break for the summer.
Donations to the Deacons’ Fund this month will be sent to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance to help with Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma victims. Donations are still being accepted.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is the emergency and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. PDA enables congregations and mission partners of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) to witness to the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crisis and catastrophic event.
“Here I Am Lord” is our Sunday School theme.
Classes for preschool through adult begin on September 10 at 9:30 am.
HOLYPALOOZA will be held at Central on September 17. This is a joint worship at 10 am at Central and celebration of the ministries for Central Presbyterian, Centenary United Methodist, and St. Stephen’s Episcopal churches along with United Campus Ministries. The UCM annual fundraiser BBQ will be held the same day.
SERVICEPALOOZA – the four ministries will be working together on various service projects over the next few weeks. Childcare will be available on Saturday morning, Sept. 16 for those participating in projects. Elementary children and youth will have supervised projects during those times.
Collect items for the food pantries at UCM and 14th and Chestnut Community Center. Central has specific items to bring for the Sundays leading up to Holypalooza. Each church is focusing on 2 or 3 different items each week so that a good mix is received overall. You may bring in any of the items at any time.

Sept. 3 – Tuna; Gravy (can or jar)
Sept. 10 – Ramen noodles; Stuffing mix
Sept. 17 Spaghetti & Sauce
SAWS ramp build – on September 16. Let Josh Powers know by August 21 if you will be helping with this vital ministry to the community. Ramps are built for those who may otherwise be homebound due to not having a way to get out of their house in a wheelchair.
Race for the Cure Survivor brunch – will be hosted at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. The children of the churches are making cards to be given to the survivors. A few volunteers are needed to help. See Kevin Buchanan or Josh Powers to sign up.
Volunteers are needed to help with the UCM BBQ fundraiser. Set-up and cooking is on Saturday.
