CL-CA Commission is having a Ladies’ Brunch on September 24th at 9:30 AM at the church.  This will be a pitch-in, which means we all enjoy each other’s favorite recipe, or get to try a new one that we’ve been looking for an excuse to try!  We will be talking about our plans for our 2016 Books, Bakery, and Bargains Bazaar, and hearing about a new mission opportunity with the reThink style show in October. We encourage ladies’ of all ages who wish to join us.
Our Kids Hope ministry is in need of mentors, substitute mentors and prayer partners for the new school year. If you would like to make a difference in the life of a child at Deming Elementary School, please contact Suzanne Downs at suzanne@thcpc.org for more information.  In addition, volunteers are needed to help with the Backpack Program that provides food for children in their school over the weekend and during holidays. Deming Elementary services the most children in the district in this program with 170 children getting food weekly.  We need volunteers on Wednesday or Thursday that would be willing to come stuff backpacks for about an hour. The time will be determined by the group of volunteers.  PLEASE SAVE PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS TO BE USED TO PACK THE FOOD EACH WEEK. A BIN IS IN FELLOWSHIP HALL TO COLLECT THEM. THANKS!
HEMEFund Project Update: William and Min Seo and family return to Terre Haute the first week of October. William is anxious to catch us up on the vocational school projects in Afghanistan. He will be making two presentations on October 9. One at 9:30 am and one during fellowship time. All are welcome to either session in the fellowship hall classroom.
The 2016 BOOKS, BAKERY AND BARGAINS BAZAAR is scheduled for November 4th and 5th. You may begin bringing books and gently used items to the church. Place them in the storage room as you enter the south side door. Nancy Rubey and Abby Simmons will be glad to give you more information about the Bazaar.
