CPC e-news for September 11, 2015

We will join our church row sister churches in celebration of our ministries for worship on Sunday, September 27.  A parade will begin at the plaza at 7th and Cherry at 9:30 am and process to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for worship at 10:00 am.  Holy Communion will be served. Following worship, all are welcome to enjoy lunch at the United Campus Ministries Barbecue which will be held at Centenary United Methodist.

Servicepalooza will take place on Saturday, September 26.  Please sign up to work at either the SAWS ramp project, the Community Garden, or to be on the Holypalooza Race for the Cure team.  In addition, donations to the United Campus Ministries Food Pantry are being collected.  Please get only items on the following list and bring them to Central before Sept 24.  Our work and offerings will be dedicated during the worship service.
Students often have limited cooking facilities and need:
Tuna, Spam, Rice, Ramen Noodles, Soups (no tomato), Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Mac & Cheese (microwave pkg), Canned Fruit, Cereal, Chips, Crackers, Nuts, Trail Mix, Jelly, Dried Fruit, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Shampoo, Laundy Detergent, Can Opener

Calling All Bakers!  Desserts needed for UCM Barbecue lunch. Each of the churches involved in the Holypalooza worship service is working with United Campus Ministries to support the barbecue lunch they will serve at Centenary immediately after the worship service on Sunday, September 27. Central’s role is to contribute desserts to accompany the lunch. Although any desserts are welcome, the servers would particularly appreciate brownies, cupcakes, cookies, Rice Krispie treats, or other items that are individually portioned. We expect a crowd, so many desserts are needed. Items can be left in our church kitchen on Saturday or dropped off in the lower level of Centenary that Sunday morning before the10:00 worship service.

Order your HOLYPALOOZA t-shirt!  Orders must be placed by this Sunday by signing up in fellowship hall.

Audio recordings of sermons now available:
Did you miss a sermon?  Oh no!  But fret not, all is not lost; audio recordings of Lant’s and Scott’s sermons are now available on the church website, www.thcpc.org.    All of the August sermons have been successfully added.  There are also some (but not all) of the sermons from earlier in 2014 and 2015.   To find them, either go to this link: https://www.thcpc.org/sermons/  or, from the church homepage, select “About Us” and then “Sermons” to see the list. (Sometimes you may need to click on “Browse Series” once you are on the “Sermons” page to see the most recent addition.)  Sermon recordings should normally appear on the website the same afternoon they have been delivered.

Plastic caps are NO longer being collected.
