CPC e-news for May 5, 2017
On Communion Sunday members are asked to make a voluntary contribution to the Deacons’ Fund so that they may aid the distressed and afflicted of our community. Special envelopes are available on the tables near the stairs to the narthex.
CLCA is hosting a Welcome Baby Shower for Nicholas Spencer on the day of his baptism, May 7. The family has requested that instead of gifts for Nicholas, donations to COVERED IN LOVE, INC be given. This organization assists needy families with disposable diapers and refers them to community resources and services. Scholarship application deadline is Sunday! Central Presbyterian Church is fortunate to have funds set aside to assist our college students achieve their higher education through the Surrell Scholarship. These book scholarships are available to church members and other active participants that will be working toward a degree at any level in the summer or fall of 2017. Applications are now available in the church office. They need to be received back in the office by May 7. Late applications will not be accepted. Scholarships will be presented on May 21.
WHO is graduating in 2017? Please notify the church office of your high school or college graduate! Graduate recognition will be during worship on May 21.
Holypalooza will be held at Central on September 17. This is a joint worship and celebration of ministries for Central Presbyterian, Centenary United Methodist, and St. Stephen’s Episcopal churches along with United Campus Ministries. The UCM annual fundraiser BBQ will be held the same day. Watch for Servicepalooza information as the ministries do mission together in the community.
