CPC e-news for June 12, 2015

Miracles are instantaneous, they cannot be summoned, but come of themselves, usually at unlikely moments and to those who least expect them.
-Katherine Ann Porter

Bike and Build riders arrived this afternoon and are enjoying the hospitality of Central and Terre Haute.  Thanks to CLCA for preparing a delicious meal for the 33 riders and will still accept sponsors that cover the food expense of a rider at $12 each.  Please add your donation to the offering plate or in the church office indicated that it is for Bike and Build.  THANKS!

The Mission Committee is collecting items each month that will benefit community agencies.  Please bring your donations and place them in the grocery cart in fellowship hall.
June – Food Bank [there is so much demand that the 14th and Chestnut food pantry runs out of food almost every week]

The farewell reception for Jonathan Rudy will take place following the morning worship on June 14.  A lunch will be served with the menu: meatloaf, creamy mashed potatoes, spinach salad with strawberries, roll and cheesecake. There will be a program honoring Jonathan.  His 3 years with us has gone by quickly!  Cards thanking Jonathan for his work and/or wishing he and Katie well on their marriage (June 20) are welcome.

The Wednesday Crafters  meet each Wednesday from 10-2.  Bring your own materials to work on for our fall bazaar, or help with ongoing projects.  Bring your lunch, enjoy our day of fellowship, and “Whistle while you work!”

Summer Sunday School classes meet each week at 9:30 am. Preschool – room 108;  Elementary – room 202; Middle School and High School – room 201; Coffee and Conversation – FH Classroom A; Exploring the Book of Confessions – FH Classroom B; Christian Parenting – FH Classroom C.  Summer classes (combined elementary and combined youth) begin on June 7.

The Sunday School offering for milk at 14th and Chestnut continues.  The need is increased during the summer with higher numbers of kids at the Center and 2 meals served each day.

Thanks to the 7th Cents Youth Group that helped serve breakfast at 14th and Chestnut on Thursday.  Ask them how much milk is used in a day!14CCC breakfast
