ANNOUNCEMENTS:

A called congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, August 13 immediately following worship for the purpose of electing the Pastoral Nominating Committee (PNC).

The annual CHURCH PICNIC is Sunday, August 27 beginning at 5:00 pm at Deming Park Lions III shelter. Fried and baked chicken, drinks and table service will be provided. Please bring a dish to share as well as lawn chairs and games. Enjoy the evening with your church family.

Attention High School seniors and college students

Applications for the 2018/19 Nancy and Dale McKee Family Scholarship for the benefit of a
member of the Central Presbyterian Church will be available at https://wvcfscholarships.communityforce.com/Login.aspx from July 12, 2017 – August 23, 2017 at 2 PM.
This scholarship requires that you are a member (or regular attendee) of Central PresbyterianChurch.

Celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit that is with us every day. An Intergenerational Sunday School class will be held on August 20 at 9:30 am.
3 year olds through adults will explore fire in fun (and safe) activities to remind us of Pentecost. Childcare is provided for younger children.

HOLYPALOOZA will be held at Central on September 17. This is a joint worship at 10 am at Central and celebration of the ministries for Central Presbyterian, Centenary United Methodist, and St. Stephen’s Episcopal churches along with United Campus Ministries. The UCM annual fundraiser BBQ will be held the same day.

SERVICEPALOOZA – the four ministries will be working together on various service projects over the next few weeks.  Childcare will be available on Saturday morning, Sept. 16 for those participating in projects. Elementary children and youth will have supervised projects during those times.

Central will host a blood drive for the Indiana Blood Center on Tuesday, August 15. This is meeting night, so it will be convenient for many to donate as you will already be here! See Molly Wadsworth to sign up.

Collect items for the food pantries at UCM and 14th and Chestnut Community Center. Central has specific items to bring for the Sundays leading up to Holypalooza. Each church is focusing on 2 or 3 different items each week so that a good mix is received overall. Please follow this schedule:
August 27 – Toilet Paper; Instant Potatoes
Sept. 3 – Tuna; Gravy (can or jar)
Sept. 10 – Ramen noodles; Stuffing mix
Sept. 17 Spaghetti & Sauce

SAWS ramp build – on September 16. Let Josh Powers know by August 21 if you will be helping with this vital ministry to the community. Ramps are built for  those who may otherwise be homebound due to not having a way to get out of their house in a wheelchair.

Race for the Cure Survivor brunch – will be hosted at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. The children of the churches are making cards to be given to the survivors.

Volunteers are needed to help with the UCM BBQ fundraiser. Set-up and cooking is on Saturday.

Saleapalooza – CLCA is sponsoring a “Books, Bakery, and Bargains” sale on September 30. This is a part of the Holypalooza 7th Street Church Row sales at all ministry sites. Start saving your books and “stuff” today. Things may be brought to the church for storage until the sale.
PARENTS NIGHT OUT is Friday, August 11. Free childcare is provided from 5:30 – 9:00pm at the church for all ages of children. Supper is provided. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of the food. Please call the church office to make a reservation for your child(ren).
NEEDED: A wagon to carry young children (preferably the light weight plastic kind with higher sides) on our Parents’ Night Out walks. If you have one you no longer need or find one at a sale, please donate it (or buy it for reimbursement). Thanks so much. The adults and children will appreciate having it.
