The first Sunday of each month is a Communion Sunday. This is the day designated to receive donations to the Deacons’ Fund which is the only method of support to aide the needs of our congregation and community. The caring work of the Deacons touches each of us. Gifts may be given using the special envelopes in the pews.

Tuckpointing is being done on the west side of the building. Access and parking in the adjacent lot will be limited on weekdays. Improvements need equipment; thanks for your patience.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS AND COLLEGE STUDENTS:
Applications for the 2020 Nancy and Dale McKee Family Scholarship are available July 15 – August 20 at https://wvcfscholarships.communityforce.com/Login.aspx. This scholarship requires that the applicant be a member or regular attendee of Central Presbyterian Church. The church is not involved in this scholarship application or selection.

The new school year begins next week. We will send our students and teachers back with our prayers for a good year. Blessing of the backpacks will be done during the Children’s Moment on August 4. Students and teachers of ALL ages and grade levels can bring their backpack or school bag to be blessed.

EVERYONE is invited to join the Sunday School kick-off on August 18 with the traditional pancake breakfast (regular & gluten free). Information about the new school year will be presented and there will be activities for the children. Classes will begin on August 25. We have great teaching teams for preschool, Kindergarten through 3rd grade, Tweens (4th – 8th grades), High School and Adults. There will be 2 adult classes:
1. resuming the discussion of prayer for a few weeks followed by a study of Psalms for the remainder of the year
2. short term studies with a variety of facilitators. August and September will be looking at the Great Ends of the Church – the guiding principles for PCUSA church – and how they are being lived out at CPC

Kids Hope needs adult mentors and prayer partners for our ministry with Deming School. See Linda Riggins for more information.

The Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are being sponsored by the Deacons and Youth Group. These boxes will bless children all over the world at Christmas. Items will be collected throughout the summer and fall and then the boxes will be assembled by the youth group and taken to a collection point for shipping. We are currently collecting school supplies (they are on sale), crafts and activities. A complete list is in the bulletin. Please bring your items and place them in the basket in fellowship hall.
