ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS AND COLLEGE STUDENTS:

This scholarship requires that the applicant be a member or regular attendee of Central Presbyterian Church. The church is not involved in this scholarship application or selection.

EVERYONE is invited to join the Sunday School kick-off on August 18 with the traditional pancake breakfast (regular & gluten free). Information about the new school year will be presented and there will be activities for the children. Classes will begin on August 25. We have great teaching teams for preschool, Kindergarten through 3rd grade, Tweens (4th – 8th grades), High School and Adults. There will be 2 adult classes:
1. resuming the discussion of prayer for a few weeks followed by a study of Psalms for the remainder of the year
2. short term studies with a variety of facilitators. August and September will be looking at the Great Ends of the Church – the guiding principles for PCUSA church – and how they are being lived out at CPC

SUNDAY SCHOOL LEADER ORIENTATIONS SESSIONS:
We have a strong group of Christian Education leaders for the new school year. Teachers and leaders: you may come to any one of the meetings but if possible, I would like to have the teams together for scheduling.
High School leaders (Connor & Jill) and the high school students that are planning to teach the elementary kids will gather at noon on Sunday, August 11.
-The Adult class leaders (Mike, Al, Kevin) and the Tweens class (4th – 8th grades) teachers (Kristen, Kirsten, Scott R, Cheryl) will meet on Monday, August 12 at 6:30 pm.
-The Preschool teachers (Beth Corrine, Ginny) and K-3rd grade teachers (Ellie, Andrew, Linda) will meet on Thursday, August 15 at 6:30 pm. These classes have the same curriculum.

Kids Hope needs adult mentors and prayer partners for our ministry with Deming School. See Linda Riggins for more information.

The Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are being sponsored by the Deacons and Youth Group. These boxes will bless children all over the world at Christmas. Items will be collected throughout the summer and fall and then the boxes will be assembled by the youth group and taken to a collection point for shipping. We are currently collecting clothing and accessories and personal care items. A complete list is in the bulletin. Please bring your items and place them in the basket in fellowship hall.

CHURCH PICNIC    AUG. 18th.   5 pm.  LIONS 3 SHELTER
Please, mark your calendar and plan to attend the annual Church picnic.  CL will provide baked and fried chicken, paper goods, ice water and serving utensils. Bring your favorite picnic dish to share, lawn chair, insect repellent and outdoor games.
