Applications for the Surrell Scholarship may be made at https://goo.gl/forms/O7EIEbkOAurKdi132.
The deadline for applications is April 22, 2019. The Surrell Scholarship Fund was established from a bequest from Mary E. Surrell who became a member of CPC in 1866. This book scholarship is for the benefit of graduating high-school seniors and current college students (including non-traditional) who are a part of the CPC family, whether by membership or participation in church life.

Protecting Our Children Training May 4
At 9:00 am on Saturday, May 4 Central Presbyterian will offer a training workshop on how to keep our precious children safe at church.  This training is mandatory for all church employees who come into contact with children on the job.  All volunteers that teach Sunday School, help with youth group or Parents’ Night Out and in other children/youth activities are strongly encouraged to attend. We also will welcome any parents and members of the church at large who wish to participate.
Rev. Mike Riggins and Christian Educator Cheryl Moles will lead this training.  We will review our church’s child-care and other policies, offer walk-around teaching on our various evacuation plans (severe weather, human threat, etc.), share what we hope you might consider telling your children about what they can do to protect themselves, equip our staff to recognize “Groomers” and more.
This is a difficult and sensitive subject.  But we absolutely must address it.  Please consider joining us as we do.
(We will offer a second, identical workshop in late summer for those who cannot attend this one.)

REGISTER NOW! The all-church PYOCA SPRING FAMILY RETREAT will be April 26-28. This fun event is for all ages and abilities. It is held at beautiful Pyoca Camp, Conference and Retreat Center in Brownstown, IN. The weekend activities include relaxed fellowship and fun with church family, working to help the camp prepare for summer, and worship.  The cost for two nights is $40 per person for adults and children 11 years and older; $25 for children 5-10 years and free for younger children. For one night it is $30 for adults and $18 for children. This covers lodging, snacks, Saturday breakfast and lunch, and Sunday breakfast. The cost of a Saturday pizza supper is shared. You may choose to come for the day on Saturday, but you might miss the s’mores!

The Mission Committee is collecting food items for Light House Mission in March and April. The food needs are: Corn, Green Beans, Peas, Applesauce, Baked Beans, Tomatoes (previous items in regular or commercial size cans), Beans, Pasta, Pasta Sauces, Corn Bread Mixes, Flour, Oatmeal, Sugar, Salt, Cereals. Please place your items in the grocery cart in Fellowship Hall.

The Moles/Goltry family will host an Easter pitch-in dinner at church following the fellowship time on Sunday, April 21. Anyone that would like to join is welcome. Please bring a dish or two to share. The meat and drinks will be provided.
Please sign-up on the sheet in fellowship hall so that we are prepared for the correct number of guests. Help with clean up is requested.

The Sunday School offering will purchase needed items for Pyoca Camp and Retreat Center. The offering will be received at the beginning of the Children’s Moment. Adult and youth classes should continue to give in their classrooms. Thank you for your generous donations.
