ANNOUNCEMENTS
2014 marks the 500th birthday of the founder of Presbyterianism, John Knox. To celebrate Reformation Sunday on October 26th, the Christian Nurture Commission will serve a Scottish lunch following worship. The menu is mince and tatties (beef or turkey on mashed potatoes), peas and/or carrots, green salad, scones and shortbread. Freewill donations will be accepted. A short informational program about John Knox will be presented. ALL ARE WELCOME!
The Mission Committee asks for special donations for the Lighthouse Mission this month. Items may be brought any Sunday and placed in the grocery cart. Personal needs: deodorants, disposable razors, shaving cream, shampoo and combs (no toothbrushes, toothpaste and lotions); Food needs: salad dressings, mayo, salt, pepper, sugar, barbeque sauce, any canned goods, ketchup, mustard, drink mixes with sugar.
7th Cents Youth Group will have a movie night at Centenary at 5:00 pm on Oct. 26. All youth will meet at the same time.
Sunday School classes meet each week at 9:30 am. Preschool – room 108; Elementary – room 202; Middle School and High School – room 201; Adults and Young Adults: Coffee and Conversation – FH classroom A; Christian Studies – FH classroom B; Christian Parenting – FH Classroom C.
The Sunday School offering is money for milk at 14th and Chestnut. Bring your coins for a little fun while giving this year!
Continue to bring the plastic caps and lids. They will be given to Art Totality for a second bench.
Attention Crafters and those that enjoy fellowship – There is a crafting session for the Fall Bazaar every Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm
A new church directory will be published in the next few weeks. Please be sure that the office has your current address, phone number(s), and email addresses.
Trinity Lutheran Church will celebrate its 90th Anniversary on October 26 with a 4:00 pm Worship Service and dinner at the MCL Banquet Hall at 5:30. Dinner tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 3 – 11. Please make a reservation by October 5.
The 11th annual Evening of Music and Chocolate will be Saturday, November 8 at 7:00 pm at Central Christian Church with guest artists Brent McPike, Solly Burton, and Carolyn Dutton. Advance tickets are $15; $18 at the door. Proceeds go to the music ministry of the church and United Campus Ministries. Call 812-877-9959 for tickets.
THANKSGIVING DINNER: Easter has been so much fun the last couple years at the church, that the Mang Family has decided to host Thanksgiving lunch at Central Presbyterian Church on Thanksgiving day at Noon. Sean and Amanda’s family are bringing thanksgiving to them and their new addition (we hope she is here by then).They are extending an invitation to the CPC family which is truly like family to Sean and Amanda. Their families will provide the main meats, drinks, and table service. We ask that you RSVP with number coming and what you would like to bring: salad, side, or dessert. Sign up will be in fellowship hall. Please let us know by Nov 23rd.
