The Worship Commission is in the process of finalizing plans for worship on Easter Sunday.  Our location for worship is still under discussion, with the leading options being to hold two services in our fellowship hall, or one service later in the morning at Centenary United Methodist Church.  This Sunday (3/19), members of the Worship Commission will be actively soliciting input from the congregation regarding this choice.

The annual Lenten Series will be each Sunday evening through April 2. Supper will be served from 5:15 – 6:00 pm followed by worship and classes. There will be classes for adults, youth and children and childcare for younger children.  Adults will have a class led by Rev. Kevin Buchanan to study the scriptures for the upcoming Sunday lectionary. Youth will have study and activities led by Connor Scanlon. Elementary children (K-5th gr) will meet with Cheryl Moles to experience “40 Days in 40 Ways.” The Worship Commission will be serving their famous Baked Potato Bar this Sunday.
NOISY OFFERING on March 19 – Our Sunday School offering this year goes to the Yurt Project at Pyoca. A special offering will be taken to increase our giving to the project that will be a benefit to our summer campers. Please bring loose change to drop in buckets and let us hear the giving! Quiet offering is also accepted!
WTWO Channel 2 will be at Central to do some filming on Sunday, March 26. They will be at the back on the west side of fellowship hall. Parents who don’t wish to have their children on camera are encouraged to sit on the east rear seats.
YOUTH FUNDRAISERA Burrito Bar (from Qdoba!) fundraiser supper will be held April 8 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Centenary United Methodist Church. Tickets are $15 per person which includes the burrito bar and drink. Children 5 and younger are free. A dessert auction will be held at 6:00 pm. Tickets will be available at both Central and Centenary church offices. A limited number will be available at the door. Funds will be used for the summer mission trip to Cincinnati.  Desserts are needed for the auction. Please sign up in fellowship hall to let Connor know that you will be bringing one.
A CLCA baby shower for Tess Templeton will be Sunday, April 9 following worship to welcome her to our church family. A table has been set up to receive cards and gifts if you desire to give. Everyone is welcome to join the celebration that morning.
CPR training will be offered at Central on Saturday, April 8 at 9:00 am. Dennis Stewart, CPR Guru, will guide us through life saving procedures for adults, children & infants. You can either receive certification ($25) which is good for 2 years or participate without being certified (free). Please notify Cheryl Moles if you will be attending. Allow 2 1/2 to 3 hours for the training.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be on April 15th at Collett Park. The time is to be announced.
Orders for Easter Flowers are now being received in the church office. You may purchase lily, tulip or daffodil plants for $8.50 each.
The annual Pyoca Family Retreat is April 21-23. Registration will begin soon for this fun event. All ages and abilities are welcomed.
Holypalooza will be held at Central on September 17. Subcommittees are being formed to organize the event. Please consider helping with the service project, publicity or children’s ministry. A sign-up is in fellowship hall.
