CPC e-news for July 18, 2014
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
to yourself and well as others.
Know that others can depend on you to do what you promise or need to.
And depend on yourself to do something that pleases you each and every day.

Buckhorn Mission Trip Successful – What a blessing it was to join 15 CPCers to Buckhorn, KY this past weekend. What an even greater blessing to truly feel the commitment of so many additional CPCers in the form of your donations for the thrift store. The pile was massive and every last bit got loaded, delivered, and even organized for optimal access to the residents of Buckhorn with deep needs for such things. Thanks to all for making the visit memorable and perhaps the start of an adult mission activity tradition. – Josh Powers, Chair, CPC Mission Committee. [Pictures are on the church website and on display in fellowship hall.]
Continue to bring the plastic caps and lids. They will be given to Art Totality for a second bench and to Unity Presbyterian for a bench.
Summer Story Time is every Tuesday in July from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. We are reading and acting out classic children’s tales (3 Little Pigs, Gingerbread Boy, etc.) Storytime will meet on the 15th with Mrs. Moles doing the first half hour and the childcare attendants doing the second part. The T3EM supper provides the meal and there won’t be a snack.
Life Skills Workshops will be held periodically to educate our youth on some basic skills in preparation for joining the workforce and/or living on their own. On July 22 and 29, all youth (rising 6th – 12th grade) and anyone else that is interested are invited to come to the church from 6:00 – 7:00 pm to learn about money responsibility and banking skills. Thanks to Murray Pate for assisting with the leadership. Please RSVP to Cheryl Moles. This is held the same time as Story Time so the younger children and older children have activities at the same time.
Attention Crafters and those that enjoy fellowship – There is a crafting session for the Fall Bazaar every Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm.
